November 2011

New month, new 'do! Let's see if it "grows" on me. Not my favorite at the moment!

November 2, 2011
We attended the funeral of a man we only just met a couple of weeks ago, who died of TB and had little to no family here. It really makes you hug your loved ones a little tighter.

November 3, 2011
The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious.  And why shouldn't it be? - it is the same the angels breathe.  ~Mark Twain

November 4, 2011
A favorite snack for all of us, except daddy. Not sure what's wrong with him. He's a pickle guy, but can't seem to stomach eating a cuke. That's okay. We'll still keep him.
November 5, 2011
We love having friends who we can mooch off of, especially where guns are concerned. The girls (and, yes, daddy) had a "blast" shooting out near the Howie's place!
November 6, 2011
Sorry little leaf buddy. Winter has reared it's freezing head. Thanks for the color, while it lasted. We'll see you again in, oh, about six months.

November 7, 2011
A fun discovery...Pebbles is a dog MADE for the winter. She absolutely can't get enough of running and playing in the snow. Must be that built-in winter coat :)
November 8, 2011
Our precious little snow angel!
November 9, 2011
The girls all had special singing parts in the school remembrance day assembly. I was one proud momma!
November 10, 2011
A little daddy-daughter-date with the Halls! TJ had an absolute riot and loved spending some special one-on-one time with daddy. What a treat!
November 11, 2011
We headed to the war memorial monument downtown to help the girls show respect to all veterans who offer up their very lives for the freedom of others.
November 12, 2011
Happy birthday, Mr. Elijah! JJ had fun being the only girl at the party...even if things got a little wild :)

November 13, 2011
Oh, BB, I could look into those gorgeous peepers all day. You have your daddy's eyes, you lucky thing! Gorgeous color and full of mischief!
November 14, 2011
Time to officially get out the winter gear and pack away all things Summer and Fall. Boo! Hiss! We won't go quietly!!
November 15, 2011
My latest addiction...solitairre on the iPhone. I have become pretty quick at it and love seeing my name at the top of the leader board for score and time. A fun waste of time!
November 16, 2011
Let the snow sculptures begin. There has to be something good about all of that white stuff all over the back yard.
November 17, 2011
Hooray! It only took 2.5 hours in line, but we made it into the FIRST showing in the city of Breaking Dawn part 1. Best part? Enjoying it with my gorgeous husband!
November 18, 2011
Pebbles is quickly growing into a full blown dog! Though, we are thrilled that she will forever keep that adorable puppy look. We sure love her!
November 19, 2011
Having a bit of fun with a long exposure and a tea light candle. Have I mentioned that I {heart} photography?
November 20, 2011
Perfect representation of our JJ...full of personality, nails painted a bright, fun color, and mouth wide open singing, talking, laughing and doing all things joyful.
November 21, 2011
'Tis the season for doctor's visits. Thankfully this time it was only an earwax build up that needed to be flushed out and not an ear infection. TJ still didn't enjoy the visit :) I didn't enjoy the 2 hour wait!
November 22, 2011
Our first visit to Agribition was MOOvelous! I had no clue just how HUGE some of those bulls are! It was a good time as we got up close and personal with some beautiful bovines!
November 23, 2011
JJ, you are such a card. You just had to lay out your outfit for Western Day at school...3 days early. Yes, we all know how important fashion is to you, my dear...and you do it SO well :)
November 24, 2011
Yee Haw! Western Day at school and my four cowgirls couldn't look any more "western...y" Have a hootin' hollerin' good time!
November 25, 2011
BB was uber excited to have daddy chaperone on her class field trip to the Science Center! Always a LOT to discover there!

November 26
Out shopping on a bright and beautiful morning. I just loving hanging out with JJ. She always makes mornings so much fun.

November 27
In a household with five girls, nailpolish is an absolute MUST have. And if it's bubblegum pink? Even better.

November 28
Family night at the pool is always a huge hit with the kids. We tried a new pool and loved how warm it was! We will definitely be heading back there.

November 29
TJ entered a drawing/coloring contest with the local paper. We'll wait with fingers crossed to see if her fun snowman wins. Check out the hole in it with the kids peeking through. Cute!

November 30
Got the NEW Christmas tree up and decorated! We are officially ready for December to begin!

October

October 1, 2011

Ever wonder how they get those happy mommy and daddy shots?  The photographer sometimes gets a little help!

October 2, 2011

October and April means 72 Hour kit updates for the next season.  "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear."

October 3, 2011

Nothing says autumn better than a school field trip to the local pumpkin patch and corn maze.

October 4, 2011

She may look fuzzy and warm but when the winter hits she's going to need to be ready for Jack Frost's worst!

October 5, 2011

With a long, warm fall and the possibility of winter at anytime a walk in the park is always welcome and a great time to watch the migrating geese.

October 6, 2011

Warm October days & lots of autumn colors means big smiles in our family!

October 7, 2011

With Grandma and Grandpa in town for Thanksgiving, the festivities started with Al Capones underground bootlegging tunnels in Moose Jaw.  With live actors, moving walls, sound effects and authentic props (like his own bullet proof office chair) its a very entertaining experience.

October 8, 2011

With lots of catching up to do with Grandma and Grandpa after their trip to the Mediterranean and Grandpa's trip to England, the girls decided to construct gruesome chalk outlines on the sidewalk.

October 9, 2011

After a wonderful Sunday of church and walk at the Legislative building, we got in a quick photoshoot.  Looking good Elder and Sister Grunewald!  They manage the LDS Church welfare food warehouse in Calgary.

October 10, 2011

With Grandma and Grandpa heading home after a wonderful weekend, our focus is now turned to Halloween!  Let the spooky-ness begin!!

October 11, 2011

'Grandma and Grandpa' Gehmlich dropped off some yummy Halloween treats.

October 12, 2011

You may have noticed this with your own kids that when you keep feeding them, they keep growing!  This little one is getting to be double her original size but she still keeps that cuteness!

October 13, 2011

This has been one of the longest autumn seasons in recent memory and that means lots of beautiful colours to enjoy.

October 14, 2011

You'd think in Canada with the number of months of the year with ice and snow and freezing temperatures that Slurpee's wouldn't be very popular but au contraire - they are huge in all seasons of the year.  We super-love them!

October 15, 2011

The only time of the year that comes close to the excitement of Christmas and birthdays at this house is BOOK ORDER TIME! The kids love new books and how can you say no to kids wanting to read more books.

October 16, 2011

What can be better than cream cheese oreo truffles with chocolate sause and sprinkles?
- not much!!!

October 17, 2011

After getting the Halloween decorations up, the next step is pumpkin carving time.

October 18, 2011

You may have noticed in these pictures of the backyard there is a large, white thing that doesn't belong.  There are two reasons: 1.) a washing machine is in the backyard 2.) it looks like new because it is not very old.  Unfortunately transmissions are expensive in vehicles and appliances and so it was cheaper to toss the old and get new then replace parts.  Next stop: the dump.

October 19, 2011

The girls church group wrote, directed and played in a stage production about missionary work in the LDS Church.  It was well done and everyone did a great job.  They even had pets roles that helped steal the show for cuteness and humour.

October 20, 2011

JJ loves school.  Even though she is now in Kindergarten, she's been going to school for 2 years already in Pre-school so she knows the teachers, schedule and all the fun things to do in the classroom.  Being an expert now she is a great help to the other kids just getting started.

October 21, 2011

The creativity in this house is never lacking at any level whether it is music, drawing, playing, scrapbooking, sewing, photography and dog-run construction (that one is dads!).

October 22, 2011

Halloween party time!  Church class party included pumpkin carving, mummy wrapping, photo-scavenger hunt, trampoline jumping and tonnes of snacks!  Super fun.

October 23, 2011

One of the reasons the house is hard to keep clean is the kids love to collect things and bring them inside!  We have rocks, leaves, flowers, sticks and whatever else is sitting around outside (which sometimes means garbage!)

October 25, 2011

More fall fieldtrips means more fun adventures.  TJ was certainly glad to find her very own rotting carcass! and even more happy to pose with it!

October 26, 2011

We love suspenseful, thrillers with lots of action, a great story and no sex or bad language.  Date night out we finally saw this movie that we'd wanted to see for a long time and it was well worth the wait.  They did a great job on this one.

October 27, 2011

I think with all the primping, hair products, blow drying and curling that go on in our room we need to renovate the house and put in a studio dressing room with four seats and lights around all the mirrors.  That way mom can can move down the line and get all of our little princesses ready for their debuts whether its church, a party or school play.

October 28, 2011

The rules of our faith limit going to dances until you're 14 years old and for very good reason, but being a part of it can still be fun even in snack sales out in the hallway!

October 28, 2011

PARTY TIME!!  Halloween has got to be one of the funnest holidays of the year and with a house full of girls and friends all dressed up in their best costumes we had a blast.  The brain jello and eyeballs floating in the drinks were a hit!

October 29, 2011

The annual Trunk n Treat in the church parking lot allows kids to get lots of safe candy, stay out of the streets at night and see all their church friends costumes.  There was no snow but the wind was cold but we managed to get rid of all our sweet inventory.

October 30, 2011

You may think we have an enormous dog but when it's bath time, that wet fur shrinks right down to just bigger than an average subway rat.  No worries, after a roll around on the carpet and wrestle with the towel she is puffed back up again but without the dirt and wet-dog smell!

October 31, 2011

So October has come to an end, we've had phenomenal weather for this late in the fall and after 2.5 hours of Trick or Treating, we got enough candy to last us through Armageddon!
